You & Us does… Summer theming!

We don’t know about you, but the tropical bank holiday and longer days have got us excited for Summer parties, barbecues and alfresco dining. As we’re gearing up for the Summer 2019, we wanted to share a run down of the things we’re loving to provide some inspiration for your Summer events.

Summer venues

One of our favourite Summer trends right now is ‘bright and light’ – the more natural light the better! Or, take it one step further and hold your event outdoors. Certainly don’t limit yourself to traditional event venues this Summer. Non-traditional spaces have enormous capacity and have interesting interior elements. Exposed bricks, wooden beams, floor to ceiling windows – your guests will be wowed by your event as soon as they arrive!

Neon signs

Neon is still a big trend, with people getting lights produced as a focal point to either represent their brand or in a generic phrase that they can use beyond the event (e.g. celebrate). Neon signs are extremely popular suspended on the wall behind a bar, above the dance floor or in the venue entrance.

Summer Event Decor
Colour pops

This season neutral can take a back seat and colour pop’s are on the up. Unlike the past few years people are moving away from the experimental and are returning to beautiful, traditional colour combinations, which are proving that they are classics for a reason! We’re seeing increasing demand for coloured vases, candles, light fittings, wine glasses, napkins and even cutlery.

Food stations

Food trucks, grazing tables, donut walls, food carts – people can hand pick their own food (literally). Each has a very different stylistic approach that can filter out through the rest of the event theme. For example, a grazing table with antipasti, cheeses and breads on a long wooden table lends itself well to a rustic theme, whereas donut walls and candy floss carts have a playful, carnival vibe. Guests love them as they get a chance to hand-pick their own food and it can be cost-saving for clients as less serving staff are required.

We hope this helped provide some inspiration, if you’re prepping for a Summer event! Drop us an email to [email protected] if you have an upcoming event you’d like a helping hand with.
